The till, the floor, the bookings and the books - the parts of a night that go wrong when they live on four different things.
Food and drinks keys, the bill with net, VAT and total, send to the kitchen (a docket never carries a price). Tabs stay open through any number of rounds until they are paid, and a reload does not lose them. Pay by card or cash, or split a bill two to six ways.
Press and hold to void a line - a brush of the screen never voids anything - and the voided line stays on the bill, struck through, with its reason.
The floor plan with every table and its seats. Ask for a party size, a time and what they asked for, and it finds a suitable table - offering a bigger one, or tables that push together, rather than saying “full”.
Takings, net and VAT, voids shown beside the takings never inside them, sales by category, card and cash - and “rung up but not paid”, which should be £0.00.
The till records how a bill was paid; the card goes through your own terminal. Dockets and receipts are shown on screen - nothing drives a printer yet.
It is not connected to a database, so two tills do not see each other’s tabs. The compliance list is a record of what is and is not in place, not a certificate.
