What we aim for on this site, what we have checked, and what we have not.

Last reviewed 20 August 2026. Text last updated 29 September 2026, so parts of it have changed since that review.

What we aim for

We build this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That is a standard we hold ourselves to, not a certification we have been awarded, and this page is deliberately explicit about which parts of it we have actually verified.

Built into the site

  • A visible focus indicator on every interactive element, including a distinct one on dark backgrounds, and a skip link to the main content.
  • Animation and transitions are switched off for anyone whose system asks to reduce motion.
  • Larger touch targets where the device reports a coarse pointer, so controls sized for a mouse are not what a finger has to hit.
  • Headings run in order and describe the structure of the page rather than being chosen for their size.
  • Images carry alternative text, and decorative marks are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Form fields have real labels, and the enquiry form announces its status rather than only colouring it.
  • Our amber accent is deliberately not used for small text on white, because it does not meet the AA contrast threshold.

What we have not re-tested

This site is being rebuilt page by page. The rules above are enforced in the stylesheet and the markup, and we can point at where. Reflow at 320 pixels, end-to-end keyboard operation and screen-reader behaviour are different: they have to be observed in a browser and with assistive technology, and they have not been re-observed since the rebuild began.

We would rather say that than imply a test we have not run. If you rely on any of the three, tell us and we will check it against your set-up specifically.

Known limitations

The dark, metallic version of our logo is a photographic-style image. Its fine highlights may be hard to distinguish for some users, so it is only ever used decoratively alongside text that carries the same information, never as the sole means of conveying anything.

Tell us if something does not work
